Join us for a weekend exploring design thinking and prototyping at the University of Washington Bothell's first Design Jam!

This weekend-long jam focuses on developing a working prototype of an product / application / website based on one of our three tracks.

- Anyone with an interest in UX/UI

- Aimed towards beginners 



- Description about how your team followed the design thinking process, showcasing the steps and iterations in designs your team went through.

Judging Criteria

  • Originality / Innovation
    Is the presented concept unique or innovative, especially within the context of the problem track they are trying to address? What else is already out in the industry that may be similar?
  • UX Design / Functionality
    Did the team put considerable thought into the user experience? How well designed is the interface? Would the key users of the problem trying to be solved actually find the concept useful?
  • Aesthetics
    How visually impressive does the concept look? For an app/website it’s all about the UI — was time taken to pick complementing typefaces or color palettes? Are there any appealing graphics? I
  • Learning
    Did the team stretch themselves? Did they try to learn something new? What kind of projects have they worked on before? This Design Jam is not only meant to be a competition, but an opportunity for students to learn and practice design
